Designer at Women’s Health at Rodale

Background:
Women’s Health Magazine is seeking a Designer to work in our New York City location. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active, energetic individual who will bring dedication, creativity and passion to our magazine. He or she will work closely with the Design Director and will be responsible for designing editorial pages for Women’s Health Magazine.

Responsibilities:
- Design front-of-book pages and various department sections
- Concept, develop, and execute the visual design and layout of pages and projects
- Manage the successful completion of multiple design projects and meeting production schedule deadlines
- Collaborate with the art and editorial staff as well as production and copy staff to produce and prepare layouts for shipping
- Assign and art direct illustrations
- Communicate with editors and the photo department

Requirements:
- 3+ years of publishing experience
- A degree in Graphic Design – Great creative problem solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills are a must
- Attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple design projects
- Ability to excel at working both independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Fluency in the CS4 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
