Background:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed team as the regional lead planner and to shape the brand’s digital future. The primary charter of this role will be to provide critical customer insights and thought leadership that are perceptual, behavioral, and technology forward. This role is responsible for contributing to the development of integrated marketing solutions with a focus on digital and interactive media that can help our clients grow their business, while growing business.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
1. Providing strategic direction of the work that R/GA produces out of the given office and contributing to the collective strategic direction of the cross-agency planning team as needed.
2. Collaborating with other agency partners, be an interactive thought leader and evangelist for the benefits and role of interactive and digital solutions within the holistic integrated solution, and R/GA’s unique view of the Digital Age.
3. Ensuring the quality and best practices of the strategic thinking and proposals produced by R/GA is of the highest standard and commensurate with R/GA reputation for breakthrough interactive solutions. Sharing responsibility with other team managers for ‘flawless execution’ of all client deliverables.
4. Building strong relationships with multi-levels of marketing clients and assisting clients with deepening their knowledge of interactive marketing.
5. As part of local leadership team, working closely with the office head to develop and grow the agency client roster
Requirements & Qualifications:
1. 6-10 years developing marketing communications and brand experience strategies across a variety of disciplines.
2. 6+ years of strategic planning experience at an agency and/or working with developing insights, understanding cultural trends, inspiring and driving big ideas that can travel across channels, but especially live well in interactive platforms.
3. Understanding and experience with media/communications planning, CRM, direct marketing and integrated communications.
4. Knowledge and experience of the web, other interactive platforms and digital environments in general.
5. Aptitude and cultural fit to inspire and collaborate with multiple agency disciplines, e.g. interaction/interface designers as well as the art and copy side of creative.
6. Experience working with syndicated research and ability to lead the design for primary research in both quantitative and qualitative techniques. In addition experience with specialized research practices for interactive/digital space (such as ethnography, one-on-one interviews, cultural anthropology, and usability).
7. Experience working with data analysts for the purposes of incorporating customer analytics, campaign analytics, forecasting, reporting and optimization in order to inform concepts, ideas and plans.

4. Curiosity: Has a naturally curious mind, loves to explore and nurture intellect; knows how to observe and identify patterns that identify trends and key insights early; knows how to ask the right questions (relevant) and quantity of questions necessary to uncover key information that can be made actionable. Probably an avid observer and follower of popular culture and societal trends
5. Creativity: Gets excited about the mission of R/GA as an agency for the Digital Age, especially in regards to the creative output. Thus, they must feel invested in the creative process from conceptual stage through execution. Passionate about finding new ways to be creative and interesting in all aspects of planning.
6. Technology Forward: Has a passion for technology, tinkering under the hood, and enjoys being a sought after authority and the resource that others turn to for emerging media. Probably very engaged personally with technology (blogging / microblogging, content creation, etc.)
7. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills; a great presenter, an active listener with consultative capabilities. A skillful communicator in tough situations where striking a balance between being direct/forceful and diplomacy is necessary.
Candidate will travel regularly for client and inter-agency meetings. This travel will be within the home region and likely beyond as necessary.
