Melbourne: Drop your knitting needles

Event Date: 12-21, 2010

Knitting as a leisurely and public past time has gained serious momentum over the past few years. Whether you hear needles clicking on the train, at the movie theater or during a flight, it’s obvious this global hobby is as charming as it is functional. Add a layer of high-end fashion and technology and you have a collection of experimentally exquisite garments. Today we’re excited to feature a new exhibition at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, entitled, The Endless Garment: The New Craft of Machine Knitting. The show explores the latest techniques and machinery that have permitted some of the most awe inspiring and cutting edge designs on the runways today. Sadly we can’t join, as we’re on the other side of the world, but if you’re in Melbourne, check out the show, as there’s a phenomenal roster of designers on display.
