London: The Future of Japanese Fashion

Event Date: 15 - 6, 2010 - 2011

For thirty years, avant-garde designers from Japan have been stunning the world with innovative work. London’s Barbican Gallery is hosting Europe’s first exhibition to comprehensively survey these avant-garde designers, curated by prominent Japanese fashion historian, Akiko Fukai.

Showing works from Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Junya Watanabe, Jun Takahashi, along with new up and comers, the show explores the unique sensibility of Japanese design and its sense of beauty embodied in clothing. The long-running show is part of a seasonal celebration of Japan. Check out the rest of the schedule and enjoy! For more info, click here.
