Denver: Reconnecting the Stars

Event Date: 9 - 6, 2013

1Sandra Fettingis 2Sandra Fettingis

We’re no stranger to Sandra Fettingis’ art, as we share a similar affection for shape and pattern. For her latest show, Reconnect the Stars, Every Single One, Sandra’s taken a break from her usual vibrant palette for stark black and white.

“This show is about reconnecting with things in life that make us feel like our true selves, steadfast on solid, personal tracks… from aspirations and dreams, to people and places.  The aesthetic for the series references the night sky.  I purposely played with a dark palette, gloss vs. matte, and angled, scattered pattern formations to signal the idea of star constellations in the evening sky.  Lately, my process starts off with a title, doodles and an inspiring shape. As the ball gets rolling, my many steps include illustration, laser cutting, painting and adhering. The materials in this series are wood, styrene, paint and stain.” Click here for more info.
