DIY Prints & Patchwork

If you take a look around, you may think today’s designers are rummaging through thrift store bins for pattern and material inspiration. Mismatched both graphically and proportionally, these pairings are reminiscent of print layouts from Another Mag and Dazed and Confused, publications that push the print and design boundaries.
Interestingly, they all have polished silhouettes and modern finishes, proving that a good clash can work, so long as the fusion is seamless. From Creatures of Comfort’s Geijo bathing suits to Preen’s graphic dresses to Miu Miu’s quilt-like accessories, we like what we’re seeing. This direction’s approachable for the masses with a hint of DIY edge.
